In a prior video, we addressed Paul’s disobeying the warnings of believers who Luke said spoke with the Holy Spirit, and « kept telling » Paul not to go to Jerusalem. Paul went anyway, clearly disobeying God.
See Acts 21:4, and Luke records that Paul deliberately disobeyed God. (Acts 21:17.)
Someone asked whether Acts 20:22-23 proves Paul had the Holy Spirit tell him otherwise earlier, and Paul was just being obedient to that message. He said Paul reportedly says he is constrained by the « Spirit » to go to Jerusalem, etc. However, because the Holy Spirit is mentioned in the same sentence, in contrast to Paul’s own spirit, multiple scholars — Vincent, Holman, Meyer, and Pulpit commentary — all say that « spirit » should be « my spirit. » Hence all « spirit, » or « Spirit » versions are inaccurate.
